I'm speaking it all the time. Especially these days when desktop computers
are powerful enough to run (Open)Solaris. Today you can use it in any market
segment (clusters, servers, workstations,...), you just need to adjust
according your needs.

To be more interesting, each new release is big step forward from former
than any of Linux distros improvements during the same time period.
Engineers from SUN did their job very well twenty years ago when they
started to build core of kernel architecture. Now we could just enjoy by
sticking new pieces of code around it.

As time pass, from my perspective, it'll be big challenger to Microsoft's
Windows. It just need faster development of GNOME, so GUI could look better,
and also font displaying, but I'm not expert in that area. Once we win,
it'll be huge benefit for generations to come. They'll have open, reliable
and scalable platform and could use it without asking each time - what is
going on inside, actually - just because they cannot track it since they
work (or develop) on a closed source platform.

Yeah, I agree, some people complain about it without even trying, but it's a
great effort which has a huge potential.
