Running older Athlon64 +3400 2.0ghz 3GB ram hardware. (asus K8 modo)
I just wanted to report that I updated an osol 2009.06 system to dev a
while back. So from 118 to 121. It was almost entirely a smooth
transition.
The one glitch was actually a glitch upward. A long standing problem
with getting the defauilt gui login to work went away. I had been
signing in to console and starting X from there but not the normal
way... I'd been calling this homemade function contained in .bashrc:
stx () { startx /usr/bin/dbus-launch --exit-with-session gnome-session; }
Now I can just set the regular stuff in menu.lst and the login just
happens.
All my cifs-server connections work. NFS file systems work. I'm in
good shape.

Just wanted to make that report before plunging ahead to 123.
