I sort of agree with you. I have seen the fruit too and have played with it as a kid. I have seen the flowers too earlier in full bloom but this looks different.
Probably there are two creepers in the same area. I have a visit scheduled in a couple of weeks. I shall do a detailed analysis and get back on this.
