In English this is known as Ivy Gourd, Coccinia grandis, because the leaves are shaped like Ivy leaves. But it is from Gourd family. In Kolkata it is commonly seen growing wild. I have even heard some people eat the green fruits as vegetables. Refer to www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivy_gourd. An image of it can also be seen which will clear doubts. Hope this is of help.

Are fruits about 7 cm long, conical ended like Parwals ( Pointed Gourd) and green when raw, turning bright red when ripe ?
