Just like seeing at the photograph (long shot) won't help. Close up of the
flowers, flower buds etc. would help for proper identification. Even the
second photograph sent is only a long shot.

Some time back there was a mail from somebody who had a Bauhinia purpurea at
his gate in his house in Mumbai. I forget the name of the Hon. Member. If he
sees this dak, grateful for his opinion.

Hi Mr.Garg,
While we await further close-up photographs of the flowers and leaves,
would like to also draw to your attention the fact that the flowers have fairly
long pedicels.
Flowers of B.variegata are 'orchid-like', almost sessile in short
few-flowered racemes never of the same colour.
                  Regards,
                     Neil.

It is difficult to confirm the species from a long shot. In Bauhinia one has to
look at the arrangement of the flowering parts. Unless you provide these
details / close up of flowers one cannot identify properly. The most
important distinctive characters are : B.variegata has 3 central petals
overlapping with 5 long stamens, whereas the B.purpurea has no overlapping
petals but possess 3 long fertile stamens and 2 (or more) short ones!
