Leaves of Mahua and Kusum are a bit similar. Both are broadest towards the tip. but the design is different. Mahua has leaves at the end of the branches in dense cluster. while kusum has 2-4 pairs of opposites. Mahua leaves have stalks; Kusum leaves are stalkless. The Mahua flowers again are in dense cluster and fruits are in longer stalks. While Kusum fruits are in short stalks s simialr to the fruits seen here in the picture.
