> Impatiens hawkeri

This is very variable plant - both in the wild in New Guinea and cultivated
in gardens. Flowers colors - white, rosa, red, purple, violet, some bicolor
varieties and so on. There could be also colored leaves and veins.
This variability puzzled first botanists investigating New Guinea Impatiens
- there were described several species. Recently it was hybridized to
obtain more heat and sun tolerant plants.
Is New Guinea Impatiens commonly planted in India?
