*Codonopsis gracilis* is treated as *Leptocodon gracilis *(Hook.f. & Thoms.) Lem. in Haridasan and Mukerjee (1996). C.vadsea is obviously a recently described species in the official journal of Botanical Survey of India (Nelumbo, earlier known as Bulletin of Botanical Survey of India) which in only published in printed form. C. vadsea should be included now in the list of Indian species of Codonopsis. DSRawat Pantnagar
