Stokes Aster (Stokesia laevis) and Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) are
two very different plants. It is interesting that this close-up
picture makes the flower look similar to both the species.
Cornflower flowers are borne on tall slender stems typically 3 ft
tall, and the flowers are about an inch across or slightly more.
Stokes Aster, on the other hand, is a pot plant, growing only 1-2 ft
tall, with large flowers 3-4 inches across.
Maybe another picture of this flower, by Ranjini, will help.
