I have struggled to remember what this was

leavers and color of flowers were very familiar

these leaves reminded me soooo much of the
goldfish plant i used to have
(before the days of widespread internet and digital photos)

i have since discovered that my goldfish plant is called
*Nematanthus strigillosus* Moore 1973 and it belongs to

*   Gesneriaceae  ...*
*where as t*his plant from NE INDIA
*Aeschynanthus genus also belongs to *

*Gesneriaceae   family ==*

*BUT its very stange and interesting that *

*Nematanthus genus grows excliusivekly in Brazil ie south american
continent *

*and *

*Aeschynanthus genus in **almost in India and south east of India *

*ie Asian continent, a small specific region.*
I wonder how did the gene pool travel so far .

*???*

*Both genus plants are succulent and form trailing habits and good *

*for hanging baskets.*

*Read about this intriguing family at this society page
<http://succulent-plant.com/families/gesneriaceae.html>*

*nature is full of wonders*

*more i see more i know how much i dont know*

*and how much remains to be looked into*

*and how many things need genetic mapping*
