Dear Dr. Garg,
I agree with the comments of Santanu. This is definitely a species of
Didymocarpus (Gesneriaceae), possibly D. primulifolius. One of my future
projects is to get clear about the species of Didymocarpus in India, China
etc. So please continue to send photos to me, but don't be disappointed
when I cannot (or presently will not) distribute species names. One of the
characteristics of a special group within Didymocarpus is the presence of
brown or golden, one- or several-celled glands on the vegetative parts,
especially on the leaf underside. Perhaps you can instruct your cooperators
to take photos of the leaf underside at the highest possible magnification
and resolution. This would help a lot in the identification and
classification of the species in Didymocapus.
Yours sincerely
Anton Weber
