We would need to view the foliage to get a better idea of which Bergenia this is. IF it is growing outside i.e. can cope with Michigan winters then it will not be Bergenia ciliata proper, though could be Bergenia pacumbis but there are other species of Bergenia in cultivation and varieties to consider.
