Thank you to Vaneet ji and Thakur ji. All the plants I have come across on the slopes here are sessile without any stalks to speak of. Like parviflora, the leaves are purple underneath and the stamens do not protrude from the petals but there is no vertical growth of the plant and the flowers are difficult to even see between the leaves. Perhaps it is a local variation of A. parviflora.
