OK, thanks Tapas ji. I can only think that this climbing shrub has some affinity to Sal trees. Its Assamese name is শাল লতা sal lata; Nepali name is साल लहरा sal lahara. In a white paper - Species composition, distribution, life forms and folk nomenclature of forest and common land plants of western Chitwan, Nepal <https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3434227/>, the etymology of *sal lahara* is a plant that climbs on “Sal” (*Shorea robusta* Gaertn.)
It could most probably be that this plant Spatholobus parviflorus is funnily called as Sal Uncle in Bengali ! Regards.
