Physics Profession : Designer and Architect (Development of Interpretation Centres on Nature and Wildlife) Nature Photographer, Interested Themes : Plants, Birds, Reptiles, Moths, Butterflies, Amphibians, Orchids, Impatiens, etc. Author : Book on Common Ambhibians of Kerala (Published by the Kerala Biodiversity board) Author : Book on Orchids - The Jewels of Nilgiris (Forest Dept. Publication) Present Work : Book on Moths of India. He is Basically a computer professional and discontinued about 2 decades ago, his passion has been nature and wildlife. He got started with birds 45 years ago, struggling with Identification as there were hardly any birding people around. He had many occasions to be with Dr. Salim Ali and many people of the BNHS in those days. During the course of his birding his interest got diverted to bird vocalisation (recording bird sounds) and that became his target of interest while looking for newer bird species. His pioneering work in the field resulted in the publication of "An audio Guide to the Birds of Southern India" in the year 1995. It was published in the UK in Audio Compact Cassette format. He was also associated with the Smithsonian Institution and the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology in recording bird sounds from Southern India. He worked on a personally funded project in documenting Tree flora of Anamalais (Now Anamalai Tiger Reserve) completing over 70 species photographing their flowering, fruiting, leaf, bark etc. For some time (about 7 years), he worked on the Amphibian Fauna of Southern India which resulted in the the Publication of the Book "Amphibians of Kerala" published by the Kerala bio-diversity Board. His present area of Interest is in Nocturnal Lepidoptera (MOTHS) which he has been doing for the last 8 Years. He had over 1000 pictures posted on my Flikr stream until 2 years ago.
