Subject: [efloraofindia:30657] Oncosperma filametosum & Pluchea indica
To: efloraofindia <indiantreepix@googlegroups.com>

Oncosperma filamentosum - is a cabbage like young shoots and is
suppose to be an edible vegetable by the local name 'Maachol' in
Marathi, generally available in locations close to Mangroves like
Rewas near Alibaug and creeks near the mouth of a river meeting the
sea. Can someone post a picture of this vegetable and confirm on the
above.
Another species is Pluchea Indica.
Are there any edible wild vegetables that grow in the mangroves?
