This shrub is indeed *Glycosmis mauritiana* (Lam.) Tanaka of Rutaceae.
Commonly seen in Tropical Dry Evergreen Forests [Champion &Seth, 1936].
Tamil Name: Konji

Rahhidaji, had you bruised the leaves and smelled? its more like a Chilly
fruit[Capsicum] smell.

I have not seen *G. pentaphylla *any one have pictures of it?
