Eye opener was pricks sustained by H. verticillatus inTungi near Lonavala MH , then came the Paper on revision of Acanthaceae in India with good account of "Haplanthus neilgherryensis" which made things easier . I went through my collection and found out H. t. var. plumosa ( or plumosus ? ) recorded from matheran which is very distinct in having plumose cladodes .
