Vern. Chilla

Small trees, c. 8 m tall. Branches tomentose. Leaves 5-12 cm long, oblong to
lanceolate, tomentose; margin slightly serrate; stipules linear, 1.5 mm
long. Flowers in clusters. Sepals 4-5, 2-3 mm long, ovate to obovate,
tomentose. Stamens 10-12, alternating with the staminodes. Style short;
stigma capitate. Capsule ellipsoid, c.1cm long. seeds many, embedded in red
pulp.
