I guess it matches with*Zehneria maysorensis *(Wight & Arn.) Arn. Zehneria maysorensis <http://flora-peninsula-indica.ces.iisc.ac.in/herbsheet.php?id=3049&cat=7> Thank you Saroj Kasaju ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Vijayasankar <vijay.botan...@gmail.com> Date: Monday, November 25, 2013 at 2:53:50 AM UTC+5:45 Subject: Re: [efloraofindia:53518] Botanical name of the climber please 1 October 2010 To: yazdy...@gmail.com <yazdypa...@gmail.com> Cc: Gurcharan Singh <singh...@gmail.com>, efloraofindia <indiantreepix@googlegroups.com>
This plant is somewhat matching to *Zehneria bodinieri* (H.Lév.) W.J.de Wilde & Duyfjes in shape of fruit and length of fruiting pedicel. But the leaves of this plant are different from that of Kaas plants. Let us wait for comments from experts. *Zehneria hookeriana* (Wight & Arn.) Arn. is said to be endemic to Tamil Nadu and its fruits have longer pedicels. The posted plant is not *Z. maysorensis*, as has been previously identified, according to the following reference. Reference: De Wilde WJJO, Duyfjes BEE (2004) *Zehneria *(Cucurbitaceae) in Thailand, with a note on the Indian *Zehneria maysorensis*. Thai Forest Bulletin, Botany 32: 15–31.
