POWO <https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:184091-2> gives it as a syn. of *Parthenocissus quinquefolia *(L.) Planch. There is another closer taxon as *Parthenocissus vitacea* (Knerr) Hitchc. as per POWO <https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:184109-2>, with many forms and varieties of *Parthenocissus quinquefolia* and *Parthenocissus inserta* as synonyms.
