Botanical name is Santalum album, as I know.  This is most common in
Mysore city and surroundings.    Comes up naturally and protected
tree.  If this tree comes up in any house one has to inform the Forest
department and one cannot cut this tree.
Another common tree in Mysore city is Magnolia champaka.  Infact many
varieties are seen if you walk on the road during the flowering
season.
