Garcinia indica (Thouars) Choisy (vernacular name: Kokkam) of Clusiaceae family. The kokkam juice or sarbath is attributed to have properties to cure blood. Lots of anti cancerous drugs have been identified from the fruits recently. A glass of juice made by putting the dry pericarp (fruit wall)overnight and consume it in the morning (empty stomach)is the practice among people in central Karnataka.
