I would be better if you check webmail directly. One the mail is safe, and not danger of loosing mails on your desktop if computer has some problem. I have resorted to webmails after nearly 15 years of using desktop downloads with Outlook express. Web gmail is quite convenient, as also mails stay in one thread.
