I am also little doubtful that's why I haven't concluded. While seeing the second picture, if both are similar, chances of them being Thelepaepale ixiocephala is less. In Thelepaepale ixiocephala the bracts are very viscid. In first post, because of over exposure the bracts were not clear (I thought they are viscid) and in the second post they were clear and it seems glabrous.
Dear Nehaji, Do you have any information regrading the flowering periodicity, whether this flowers every year or once in 6-7 years. If you happened to get fruits and seeds, by any chance, please collect them and check whether the seeds are glabrous or hairy. Please consider the following threads as well. https://groups.google.com/group/indiantreepix/browse_thread/thread/9ff7de3b96d262/b7d17c575a113e6f?hl=en&lnk=gst&q=Thelepaepale+ixiocephala#b7d17c575a113e6f https://groups.google.com/group/indiantreepix/browse_thread/thread/8c10c9012dad71f9/619e4c6f4d1c49cf?hl=en&lnk=gst&q=Thelepaepale+ixiocephala#619e4c6f4d1c49cf Regards, Giby On 14 September 2011 11:16, H S <[email protected]> wrote: > Neha ji, i guess your previous post photo of Acanthaceae member and this > photo, is one and the same plant.. > > regards, > > On Tue, Sep 13, 2011 at 11:21 PM, Giby Kuriakose <[email protected] > > wrote: > >> Please check Strobilanthes anceps of Acanthaceae family. >> >> Please share the following information (if you have) >> >> number of stamens, if there are 4 stamens, are all of them at same height >> or inner 2 short and outer 2 longer >> whether the leaves and stem softly white >> whether the peduncles (inflorescence stalk) is flattened or not >> >> >> >> Regards, >> Giby >> >> >> >> >> On 13 September 2011 22:35, Neha Singh <[email protected]> wrote: >> >>> >>> >>> Dear friends, >>> The attached flowering flowering bush was photographed >>> at Goa . >>> >>> Plant Habit- Bush >>> >>> Habitat- Wild >>> >>> Location- Near Bondla Wildlife sanctuary, Goa. >>> >>> Date/ Time- Dec 2008. >>> >>> ( This flower looks all similar to the flower posted by me yesterday but >>> the flower colour.
