nice logical steps... but wrong... since you  might be very familiar with 
Kalmi saag.... did you never doubt your own analysis???   ... esp that of 
the stem.... and its presence or absence of hollow tube like nature of the 
stem... and the shape etc of the leaf, even before on analyses the 
flower????


Kalmi saag is Ipomea aquatica, as far as I know...
Correct me if that is not so...
