Another way to differentiate would be -

Flower buds like "modak" (during Ganesha festival, modaks are made) - C.
gigantea
Flower buds like "pedha" .(I am sure every one knows the shape of
Pedha...............................................................................................C.
procera..

I found this differentiation is very easy to identify these species.
