common tree in many states-Eastern ghats.Rhododendron arboreum is Himalayan
and common at Shillong peak,Darjeeling and Gangtok..Dr Sanjappa ex DBSI
whose student prepared a thesis on Rhododenron in India now at Bangalore to
helpyou as I myself studied Rhododendrons of Hooker .r.arboreum is also
source of Gurais which Rajuet sanjappa taste in sikkim.We had a floral
calendar in 83 by BSI in which I gave Red R.arboreun and one Yellow
.R.macabeanum.I have many slides and negatives and let youknow if get a
printed photo in my house here.  "
