yes a source of a potent mitogen... esp immune enhancer and some claimed inhibitor of aids viral replication... those interested google "pokeweed mitogen" the pokeweed lectin... and look for immunology journals.. usha di ps was considered to be teratogenic for handlers of this plant parts when large amounts were collected for analysis etc... i think purdue folks had some write ups if i am not mistaken...
