The word Pitaamah (पितामह) doesn't suite him yet. To me this word brings to mind image of someone who has lived his most active life, and is only playing the role of a wise grand old man. Gurcharan ji, on the other hand, is doing more field work than the most of the young ones, is more passionate in plant identification than most young ones, is more active in internet discussions (efi in particular) than most young ones. So, although we all are gaining a lot from his knowledge and experience, he is in the prime of his life, as far as plants and botany is concerned. My heartiest congratulations to him! - Tabish
