Sheila is right its the hybrid double impatiens, the leaves and the flower buds give it away...
and Ajinkya is also right... our regular garden balsam is an impatiens so...this is a balsam.....:) this hybrid is a bit less hardy then its parents, still is (was by now) quite popular as houseplant or partly sunny locations in borders in gardens in northern climes... in summer of course, and had many colors..as you showed Aarti. But in recent times fallen off the favorite list since gets attacked mercilessly by the downy mildew... not a desirable event in the garden esp if one has prized roses and if one grows veggies...its devastating.... so most good quality nurseries did not carry it this year.... usha di === On Sun, Aug 12, 2012 at 3:49 AM, Plantaholic Sheila < [email protected]> wrote: > Looks like Impatiens walleriana double form. > > * > http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=impatiens+walleriana+double&sugexp=chrome,mod%3D12&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=6NkmUInwA8HJ0QXR-4CoCg&biw=1536&bih=776&sei=6tkmUL_aHuL80QXbpYCICw > *<http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=impatiens+walleriana+double&sugexp=chrome,mod%3D12&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=6NkmUInwA8HJ0QXR-4CoCg&biw=1536&bih=776&sei=6tkmUL_aHuL80QXbpYCICw> > > Hope this helps. > Sheila > =============================================== > > On Saturday, August 11, 2012 3:31:30 PM UTC+1, Aarti S.
