Syn: *Hesperis candida* Kit.

Common names: Damask-violet, dame's rocket, sweet rocket

A tall branching perennial herb reaching 1 m with alternate lanceolate to
ovate-lanceolate leaves, 5-10 cm long; flowers about 2 cm long, 9-12 mm
across, lilac or light purple, in terminal racemes, sweet-cented; siliqua
5-9 cm long, slender, beaked.
   Cultivated and frequently naturalized. Photographed from Gulmarg and
Dachhigam in Kashmir.
