Dear All,
Tamil alphabet represents Places of Articulation.
Sanskrit alphabet (and of the co-languages) represent Sounds.
There are a fundamental difference, which as far as Tamil is concerned is
scientific issue.
It is thought that Tamil uses largest number of phonemes, probably for any
language. This is because of the way alphabet is defined.
There is a misunderstanding, some times deliberate and other times due to lack
of knowledge about Tamil alphabet,
Before Unicode Consortium embarks on changes, which will lead to probably the
dismantling of worlds only scientific alphabet, which is also the probable
original alphabet of the world from the face of the earth once and for all.
I make this appeal to the UC to give required consideration to respect the
correct but under attack, human civilisation from
destruction. Even if UC assumes Tamil definition is wrong, UC should
investigate this matter with high sophistication before embarking on
dismantling the Tamil alphabet
Kind Regards
Sinnathurai
