basically consists of being handed a broken machine and having to fix
it, it more accurately reflects the kind of day-to-day experiences that

TRAINING NEWS: SINGAPORE ANNOUNCED AS RED HAT LINUX EDUCATION HUB

Earlier this month, Red Hat named Singapore as its hub for Linux and
Open Source education services for the ASEAN region. With a new training
center at Red Hat's corporate office, courses will be delivered direct
by Red Hat instructors, providing broader availability of the
industry'sleading hands-on training and certification programs. In
addition to the acclaimed Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) and Red
Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certifications, the highly accredited Red
Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification will also be made available
later in the year. A number of Developer and Security courses are also
currently available. 

Red Hat's courses and examinations have met stringent National Infocomm
Competency Centre (NICC) criteria, are CITREP certified. Participants
who are eligible for the grant may enjoy a 50% rebate on course and
examination fees.

TIPS FROM RHCEs: ALTERNATE WAYS TO OBTAIN KICKSTART FILES 

Most system administrators know that kickstart files can be provided on
floppy disks or over the web via HTTP (including via CGI). Although
these are both useful in their own right, there are a couple of other
options which can prove very handy.
