Maybe you should take a look at dvdcompare.com about Enterprise (Differences about R1 and R2) in http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=7256 and since you didnt mention which R2 are you talking about UK, France, Japan, Etc. so its not clear
Anyway I like the Packaging of R1 better because it comes in 7- Discs inside hinged plastic clamshell (coloured red, blue or gold depending on season) with a book-style holder for the discs inside. Box includes a 12-page booklet with the episode listings and a coupon for small discounts at Star Trek: The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton. So its a DEFFINITE plus point for me. Anyway R2 discs are PAL color systems and for movies I prefer NTSC color systems for my Home Theater. But most of R2 dvds that I have, in comparison with R1 that my friends have, R2 are much better. Both in packaging, menu, extra features and picture quality. For example, ST:TNG, packaging dan pic quality R2 jauh lebih bagus dari R1. I have watched and compared both versions. However, due to shipping cost, I now buy R4 more often than other regions.
