WATCH THE RE-RUN

Late night I tried to keep my eyes open
TV turned on and sleepiness shaken
Look, space adventure that looks so ancient

A starship so cool called the Enterprise
Traveled so fast with what's called warp device
With opening theme so cheesy but nice

On a five-year mission they went proudly
To find strange new worlds and to go boldly
Never thought that it could be so lonely

The handsome captain was called James T. Kirk
With tight shirt and pants and that lovely smirk
To spread love and charm was his handy work

Look, the commander was an alien
His pointy ears looked exactly Elven
And thanks to him, bangs was back in fashion

For engineer, they picked a Scottish guy
With that thick accent he was never shy
I wonder if he hid his booze nearby

And take a look at Hikaru Sulu
Helmsman of the ship always had a clue
If he lost his charts, the others would sue

The beautiful woman was Uhura
Her race was of Afro-America
And was definitely not a Libra

Another woman was called Janice Rand
Seemed to always do the Captain's errand
Maybe she wished him to be her husband

And let us not forget the ship doctor
He loved to grumble at the commander
And also had quite a bedside manner

And so let's all watch the Star Trek re-run
The late night shows had never been this fun
Guess that's all folks, this poetry is done
