As an adjunct, we’ve posted a history of major incidents managed by LAS in the past 25 years. For details, click here.

ICE Tip Generates Heat
A recent EMS tip about using cell phones to store identified "In Case of Emergency" contacts, which was posted in JEMS eNews and has been circulating via the Internet, created a whirlwind of responses. Some advocate the procedure as a potential method to obtain critical patient information in dire circumstances and to help patients feel reassured; others argue against the idea, citing such serious safety and privacy concerns as terrorist schemes and outdated contacts. To learn what providers, emergency physicians and industry legal experts think, read Priority Traffic in September JEMS.
