The searing heat wave affecting much of the U.S. has killed at least 17 people and kept EMS scrambling.

At least seven people died in the Chicago area alone, while heat may be to blame for as many as five deaths in Oklahoma. Paramedics in Oklahoma City responded to 14 heat-related calls on Tuesday. Today, the National Guard evacuated St. Louis residents from homes and businesses. ... Full Story
