A versatile system which allows easy immobilization of a child with spinal injuries or just in need of restraint. The immobilization Board will accommodate children from infancy to approximately 70 pounds and from 25-18 inches in length. The unique harness system, which includes a padded adjustable full-head harness, allows easy manipulation of the child for proper airway management or radiologic procedures. Once a child is positioned on the Immobilization Board, the spine is functionally maintained in a static position, protecting against lateral spinal movement, and ensuring spinal immobilization during rotation or movement of the patient. The split leg strapping design allows each leg to be treated separately. This Pediatric Immobilization Board is totally radioparent so the child can be x-rayed while still firmly in place on the board. Also, integral attaching straps make the board compatible with most other commercial back boards.
