In 1971, B. N. Goswamy referred in a footnote to an earlier article by
Chintaharan Chakraborty that had appeared in the *Journal of the Asiatic
Society of Bengal* on the subject of manuscript scribes.

I've searched on archive.org, Google, and in some 1960s issues of the JASB,
without luck.  Does anyone here know Chakraborty's article by any chance?
