The lecture is the first in a series dedicated to Georg Bühler and organised by 
the Austrian Academy of Sciences to mark and celebrate the 140th anniversary of 
his taking up the Chair for Philology and Antiquities of Ancient India at the 
University of Vienna and his subsequent membership at the Academy. Six lectures 
will address Bühler’s intellectual legacy and also highlight new research and 
latest developments in Bühler’s fields of study. Please see below for the other
