Dear Indologists,
I have a few questions about Chapter 4 of Yuddha Khanda of Rudra Samhita of Siva Purana beginning on p. 820 of the link dealing with the story of Tripurantaka. Although, the translator says in the footnote on p. 820 that the person created by Vishnu (from himself) preached Jina Dharma to misguide the Asuras, is the Arihat really supposed to be Jain or Buddhist preacher? Is there a critical edition of the text? How old is this part of the text? Thank you in advance. Regards, Palaniappan
