Dear Scholars, Do we have reliable, consistent information regarding an ancient ceremony, rite, or process by which a retiring Bhārata king establishes a son as the new king? Or was this done by brāhmaṇas, as would seem to be method in the case of a slain king?
I am especially concerned about the older periods of Mahābahrata composition, and specifically within the Mahābhārata heartland in north central India. Sorry for all the parameters! I will be grateful for any help with this. Best wishes, Howard _______________________________________________ INDOLOGY mailing list [email protected] https://list.indology.info/mailman/listinfo/indology
