hi
this just one way i am feeling that u can do it...
just before printing ur datawindow insert a new row in the datawindow and
populate all the values in ur existing row into the new row...so that u hav
two records of the same and print it on in an A4 paper..
ur page settings shud be ready to hold two records....u can set newspaper
column as 2 if necessary

Hi,
If your second copy has the same data, i mean if you want to print the same
datawindow again on the same paper as a carbon copy of first one then it's
very simple. Create new composite data window and put your old datawindow
twice in it and define retrieval arguments for both if any. And write print
command for coposite datawindow.
But if you want to print two different records on the same page and your
printer is dot matrix, then also it's very simple, just go to printer
setting and define custom paper size. If your paper is of 12 inch in length
then here in your case define length 6 inch.
I think first one is the case u want.....check if any problem.

But I want to display only one record in the preview window. Howwver when
print I want to print to 2 copies on the same A4 size. Is it possible to do
it ?

hi,
yes you can do it. In preview mode , make your second datawindow visible =
FALSE and just before printing make it visible = TRUE.
again after print command make it visible = FALSE

also there is another way. Put two data controls on window say dw_1 and
dw_2. Assign composite datawindow to dw_1 and only single datawindow to
dw_2. Now display only dw_2 and print dw_1. But here performance can be the
problem because you are retrieving the same record thrice.

u can do it without using any composite datawindow or any other
datawindow..check will this favour u
i think u r directly retrieving and printing.....then with ur existing
datawindow
approch
----------
1. in ur datawindow's retrievestart event put the code
return 2
2. and in ur print button put this code
dw_1.setredraw(false)
dw_1.retrieve(...arguments...)
dw_1.print()
dw_1.reset()
dw_1.retrieve(...arguments...)
dw_1.setredraw(true)
bcos u r given return 2 in printstart event when u r retrieving again the
previous data will not clear, instead the same record will retrieve
again..so u hav two same records and will print it also...but it will not be
visible bcos redraw is false...u reset the datawindow and retrive again( so
it have one copy again ), then make redraw true
