OK, I see better what you're getting at, but still don't see how this could work b/c there's a race condition of sorts.
You want the `hostname` from influxdb.conf to be used as the default -host for influx(.exe) client. But that value is only used by the daemon, AFAIK. And by the time the daemon could tell the client what hostname it _should have_ used, the unsafe SSL connection has already been attempted.
