Well, it's better to be sure of this. Do you have a kernel core and
namelist that you can analyze, most importantly get a stack dump?
What conditions exactly caused the reboot? Are they repeatable? Is
the afs module getting correctly loaded before afsd attempts to start
up? What version of HP-UX and AFS are you using exactly? Any other
unsual modifications to the kernel?

This isn't really AFS-specific; afsd is simply reporting system-clock
corrections to the console via syslog. Lots of other programs will do
this as well. You just need to start up xconsole when you start an X
session (iconify it if you don't want to see it) and all console
messages will automatically get redirected there. Regards,
