Recovery of RW volume

I'm sure this question probably gets asked a lot...What is the easiest
way to recover a RW volume that you've accidentally removed?  I have
3 readonly volumes left and a backup copy.  I know I can restore the
volume from tape but it seems that I've heard you can restore from
readonly volumes as well.  Is there a way to do this?  Thanks in advance
for any help.
