can't connect to server

[lfq]

hi all,
        i want to use a Linux as cvs server and another Linux as client .
but when i use 
"cvs -d :pserver:lfq@host:/home/cvsroot login"

it failed :
"  cvs [login aborted] : recv() from server host : EOF"
i don't know what had happened and what can i do for it ?
