Yes, I have a shell account and I've installed cvs myself. I use ssh to
access my shell account. The last part of the installation that I'm
interested in is setting up a server daemon so I can log into the cvs
server using a gui cvs client like MacCVS Pro 2.5.

The manul talks about modifying /etc/inetd.conf, but my web host can't do
that for me for security reasons. In the manual under "Direct Connection
with password authentication" it says: "the file `/etc/inetd.conf' needs to
be edited so inetd knows to run the command cvs pserver when it receives a
connection on the right port"

Is there another way for me to setup my server to accept connections on
port 2401?

Seth
