The etc/services & etc/inetd.conf have correct entries(port is changed to 2402 from default port 2401 in the default.properties file). The passwd file has entry about the userid & CVS password also. Everybody has write access to the history file. The CVS password is different from the system password as per the CVS manual. I would appreciate if somebody could give me the suggestions/solutions.
